OCCASIONAL PAPERS
Power Generation in Japan:
Outlook for Fossil Fuel Inputs and Fuel Oil Imports, January 2012
The March 2011 earthquake/tsunami has shaken Japan’s formerly robust nuclear power industry to its foundations. This multi-client report assesses the prospect for the return of nuclear generation in Japan through FY2013. Moreover, the study analyzes the mixture of fossil fuels that will compensate for lost nuclear generation and the fuel oil imports that will be needed to help meet Japan’s heightened demand for low sulfur fuel oil for power generation.

Outlook for Dirty Tanker Rates, September 2011
The primary purpose of this Axelrod Energy Projects multi-client report is to project dirty tanker rates for various tanker classes in order to provide an early warning system for traders and charterers. The report is intended to be a planning tool for traders and charterers to prevent being caught short when the next upward swing of the shipping cycle returns. As such, the report provides the intellectual basis for planning for shipping needs rather than relying on rumor and innuendo.
